Retail Sales Supervisor

Tibbetts Lumber Co. LLC, a lumber and building materials company, is seeking an experienced Retail Store Supervisor for our St. Petersburg, Florida location.

Essential Functions of this position include:

STORE OPERATIONS

  • Promote a positive, professional work environment.
  • Supervise and motivate store team.
  • Responsible for opening and/or closing of store.
  • Training of store employees on front end procedures.
  • Responsible for maintaining inventory levels, and cycle counts in assigned areas.
  • Ensure accurate receiving, stocking and labeling of merchandise throughout store.
  • Oversee maintaining price changes and store signage.
  • Institute promotions throughout store via end caps, stack outs and other means of merchandising.
  • Assist with maintenance and cleanliness of showroom and stockroom.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Success Profile:

  • 2-4 years of retail management experience in the hardware/lumber industry preferred
  • World-class customer service skill and interpersonal/communication skills
  • Strong problem-solving ability and analytical skills
  • Proficiency in MS Office
  • Flexible availability

Outside Sales Coordinator

Tibbetts Lumber Co. LLC, a Lumber and Building materials employer, located in Saint Petersburg, Florida, seeks an individual to provide assistance to outside sales representative and customer service activities to contractors and retail customers.

Essential Functions of this position include:

  • Assists outside sales representative with all orders including scheduling and delivery for customers
  • Provides customer service primarily to contractor customers
  • Actively engages in selling company products /services and related items. Provides material estimates and quotes for contractors
  • Orders products from vendors on an as needed basis
  • Enters orders into system and schedules delivery of products
  • Plans and paces own work efficiency in order to meet daily, weekly, project or team related productivity goals
  • Handles and resolves simple customer complaints and forwards more complex issues to more senior staff for resolution
  • Other duties may be assigned

Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of Lumber and Building materials
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrates strong detail orientation skills
  • Strong Customer service skills
  • Knowledge of basic sales techniques, concepts and the ability to influence and persuade
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel
  • Lifting requirement - 25 pounds when needed
  • Two – three years of experience in the Lumber and Building materials industry preferred.

This is a full time position, and the successful candidate should be able to work flexible hours. Benefits include health benefits and 401k. Salary is commensurate with experience.

Outside Sales Representative – All Locations

Tibbetts Lumber Co. LLC, a Growing Lumber and Building materials company is seeking experienced Outside Sales Representatives.

Essential Functions of this position include:

  • Perform Building material take-offs.
  • Compile lists of prospective customers for use as sales leads.
  • Travels regularly throughout territory to call on regular and prospective customer to solicit orders or talk with customers by phone.
  • Displays or demonstrates product to customers
  • Quote prices and credit terms and prepares sales contracts for orders obtained
  • Estimates date of delivery to customer, based on knowledge of production and delivery schedules
  • Works with Sales Coordinator to keep account activities up to date
  • Develops and maintains relationships with purchasing contacts
  • Investigates and resolves customer problems with deliveries
  • Attends trade shows
  • Keeps expense account
  • Other duties as assigned by Manager.

Qualifications:

  • Must be able to perform each essential job duty satisfactorily
  • Extensive experience in lumber, trusses, windows, doors, roofing, millwork and commercial hardware.
  • Detail oriented
  • Highly motivated, self-starter
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to use a smart phone and have general computer skills
  • Honest
  • Must have prior selling experience

This is a full time position based and salary is commission-based with a bi-weekly draws and potential performance bonuses. Company benefits include health insurance and 401k.

Truss Designer – All Locations

Tibbetts Lumber Co. LLC, a growing Lumber and Building Materials company, is seeking an experienced Truss Designer. Under general supervision, this position creates truss placement plans, truss design drawings and truss quotes along with providing technical support to customers and sales representatives related to truss components for residential and commercial projects.

Essential Functions of this position include:

  • Produces floor and roof truss placement plans, truss design drawings and truss quotes using your ability to understand blueprints and customer requirements for specific projects.
  • Determine design specifications based on blueprints and structural design needs.
  • Review other designers work as part of a double check system to reduce design errors prior to putting paperwork into manufacturing.
  • Create shop paperwork that is optimized and batch for efficiency based on equipment used in manufacturing.
  • Communicate with customer and sales staff on technical aspects of plans which require clarification from customer, Architect or Engineer. Document communication with said parties using excel spreadsheet and saved emails.
  • Consult with more experienced component technicians and management when more in-depth analysis is required.
  • Plan and pace your own work efficiency in order to meet daily, weekly, project, or team related productivity goals.
  • Other duties may be assigned.

Essential Functions of this position include:

  • Knowledge of company products sufficient to determine appropriate structural applications
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Knowledge of basic math and measurement skills
  • Knowledge of drafting, architectural design or CAD applications
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints and architectural drawings
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Mitek Software preferred.

Minimum Requirements:

High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED) and one (1) year component design experience; or equivalent experience and education.
